Are you looking for a job or starting to think about it?  Are you thinking about what your background brings to the table or what you should be looking for from employers?

On Monday, May 4, from noon to 1:00 in the UW SLIS Commons you are invited to have lunch with Adín Palau, a training officer for the UW Office of Human Resources, and Sandra Guthrie, Director of Business Services at Memorial Library, where we will talk about these issues and anything else you would like to discuss with them.  Just bring your lunch and your questions.

If any scholars outside of UW-Madison would like to participate contact me (Gabe Gossett: gossett -at- wisc dot edu) and I can set something up so that you can come in on Dimdim or Google Videochat.

Join the UW Libraries for a presentation and panel discussion about diversity in the field of librarianship. The featured speaker will be Gwendolyn Prellwitz, Acting Director of the ALA Office of Diversity.

Joining her will be Catherine Phan and Omar Poler from UW Madison’s School of Library and Information Studies. Ms. Prellwitz will give an overview of what the ALA Office of Diversity does and describe current trends in librarianship. Ms. Phan and Mr. Poler will discuss some of the issues they learned about and experienced in the SLIS Tribal Libraries class.
