Damon McGhee
Damon McGhee was born in Maywood,
Illinois in August 1986, where his family still resides today. He
owes much of his current interest in library and history to his mother
and father who thought it important to expose him and his siblings to
diverse cultural experiences and composites of intellectual
understanding. His mother is a genealogist and his father is a
counselor at a community college. He received a BA in History from
Northern Illinois University, and will be attending the University of
Illinois in Urbana-Champaign starting in the fall of 2008 to begin
training for a career in Library and Information Science. After
he receives his MA in LIS, he wishes to pursue a second MA in
History. From there he hopes to attain a job as an archivists or
special collections curator.
